A reimagined rainbow: these color names honor the theme, the messaging, and the purpose behind this Pride collection. They pay homage to trans and gay icons, to the historical language used by the queer community, and to our shared history as we all continue fighting for our futures.
Serenity Indigo
A reference to the rainbow flag that debuted at the Gay Freedom Day Parade in San Francisco in 1978. Each color stood for something, with indigo representing serenity.
Pay It No Mind Coral Pink
A tribute to Marsha P. Johnson. The “P” in her name stood for “Pay It No Mind,” a phrase that became her motto.
Brick Road Yellow
Our Brick Road Yellow is a tribute to the historical queer slang phrase "Are you a friend of Dorothy?," alluding to the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.
The phrase was used between queer invdividuals to allude to their sexuality while avoiding hostility.
Carnation Green
We honor Oscar Wilde, the Irish poet and playwright who wore a green carnation to show his queerness.
Kiss In Brown
Named after Ted Brown, a black gay man who was a key figure in both British civil rights history and LGBT history. Ted Brown helped organize the UK’s first official Gay Pride in 1972. It was at this Pride that Brown led a mass kiss-in and changed history.
Pride Not Prejudice Purple
This turn of phrase reminds us all that prejudice has no place in pride or at Pride 💜.
